DAY 5 – In-flight Entertainments

In-Flight entertainments are a serious thing when flying long haul as 8 hours can drag, while strapped into a little seat, without something to do.

After paying attention to the safety demonstration, everyone settled down with their welcome drinks to peruse the films available on the Virgin Atlantic Heathrow to Delhi flight.

Knowing how I like to watch back to back films, Trevor had very kindly bought me a pair of noise cancelling ear buds. I was excited to give them a go – only to find that although they cut out the engine noise really well, I couldn’t get them to connect (wirelessly) to the TV system.

So reluctantly, I unwrapped my supplied foam roller style headset and tried to watch a good film over the roar of the engines. It was like trying to hear a conversation under a waterfall, so I turned back to sketching people on the plane, to pass the time.

I was very bemused to spot this Indian gentleman across the aircraft, ‘listening’ to something with his earphones over his neatly arranged turban.

Another glance around the passengers and I spotted his friend, across the aisle, also wearing his headphones, but over a very woolly bobble hat.
