Portrait Commissions Feature in the Glasgow Herald Luxury Christmas Gifts Supplement

Glasgow Herald Portrait FeatureA few days ago I was very excited to have been interviewed by the Glasgow Herald newspaper. Each year, around this time, they produce a guide to luxury Christmas gifts that that are created right here in Scotland. They had heard about the portrait commissions side of my art business and were keen to highlight how a highly personal portrait makes a wonderful luxury gift at Christmas time. I would definitely agree and would also say that a portrait can make a wonderfully thoughtful present at any time of the year!

Towards the end of each year I am often contacted by clients who have an idea for a portrait of  a loved one, themselves or even a family pet. They would normally like me to create a portrait from a photograph that they already have so that I can complete in time for Christmas and they can then gift it to their special someone. When time is tight though (as it usually is – last minute gifts seem to be the norm) all is certainly not lost and I am always happy to make up a portrait voucher so that the sitter and I can work together more closely when all the Christmas craziness has died down and we are all more relaxed. The voucher can even be in the form of a quick sketch if the client has a nice photograph to work from.

For more details about commissioning a portrait please have look at the portrait page on this website and, of course, please do contact me if you have any questions at all and I will always be delighted to help.
